From Milan to the Langhe: strong tastes and all the elegance of Northern Italy
A tour in the prosperous North-West of Italy, where precious cities of art alternate with flourishing crops and green hills and valleys dominated by medieval villages and castles. All accompanied by the intense aromas and strong tastes of local cuisine, among which the flavours of the white truffle of Alba, Parmigiano Reggiano and Parma ham stand out. Fine wines such as Barolo and Franciacorta are just the perfect match for such high-quality delicacies.
Individual arrival in Milan-Malpensa airport and minibus transfer to the Langhe Region. We’ll visit a winery among the rolling hills of the Langhe and we’ll discover how local wines are produced. The wines are accompanied by a refined lunch.
In the afternoon, transfer to the hotel and short panoramic walk. Welcome dinner.
Langhe is not just famous about wine and truffle, hazelnuts are largely produced here. We’ll walk among the hazelnut trees of a farm that transforms this delicious little fruit in flour, spreads and sweets: the visit of the farm ends with the tasting of these products.
In the afternoon we visit the International Alba White Truffle Fair, which scents the medieval town of Alba with the intense smell of the truffle.

In the morning we participate in a captivating truffle hunt in the forests of the Langhe, led by a truffle expert and his dogs. Our reward is the lunch, prepared with the truffle found during the hunt.
After lunch we visit Barolo, a charming medieval village overlooked by a castle and surrounded by vineyards, and the original Corkscrew Museum.
We leave the Langhe behind and we head to Turin. We visit a prestigious chocolate laboratory where we also have the possibility of making a chocolate bar! The final tasting of their best pralines adds a sweet touch to the trip.
In the afternoon we visit the Mole Antonelliana, the landmark building of Turin: the panorama from the top of its dome is breath-taking.
The day is completely dedicated to the visit of the city centre. An easy walk brings to the most beautiful squares of Turin, surrounded by majestic and elegant buildings. We visit Palazzo Reale, one of the most important and noble buildings of the city, nowadays UNESCO world Heritage site and museum.
In the afternoon, free exploration of the city: shopping, walks in the parks and sweet breaks in pastry shops, there is a lot to do!
Transfer to the hills of Parma. On the way, we’ll stop in the Labyrinth della Masone, the largest labyrinth in the world built with bamboo plants: getting lost in the maze is a great adventure!
After the labyrinth, we move to the hotel, built in the village of Tubiamo Castle. We visit the sumptuous rooms of the castle enclosed in its massive walls and finally we join a captivating cooking class, where we learn how to cook the best regional recipes.
Tasting balsamic vinegar is an unforgettable experience. We visit a traditional acetaia in the countryside, an elegant building surrounded by Italian-style gardens where the precious barrels have been kept for many generations.
In the afternoon we meet two young honey producers who will introduce us to the magical world of the bees, as well as to their treasures, organic farming honey and propolis.
Ham and cheese, the gastronomic treasures of Emilia. We start the day visiting a Parma ham producer that breeds free-range black pigs. Ham and the cold cuts here produced are top-quality and we’ll have the chance to taste the difference.
After lunch, it’s time to discover how cheese and the famous Parmigiano Reggiano are produced: the dairy we visit lies among the hills and uses organic methods.
Transfer day to Milano. On the way, we’ll have a break in a prestigious winery in Franciacorta, a hilly area famous for the production of a classic-method sparkling wine. We taste their best wines and walk in their beautiful property.
Once in Milano, we’ll visit Eataly, a Italian retail chain that offers just high-quality Italian products.
The day ends with an elegant Michelin-starred dinner in one of the most modern neighbourhoods in Milan.
Full day visit to Lake Como, a splendid lake surrounded by high mountains that features fairy-tale like villas and charming villages. We first visit Varenna, a beautiful small village made of colourful houses, and then we navigate on a ferry towards Bellagio, the most romantic town by the lake.
After a fish-based lunch in the picturesque Bellagio, we visit the renowned Villa del Balbainello, a XVIII century villa that has been the location of many famous movies.
Milan is the business, design and shopping capital of Italy, but it is also an important city of art. We visit the city centre walking, passing by its most famous monuments, until we get to the Duomo square. We visit the cathedral and climb up to the panoramic terraces, from where it is also possible to see the Alps on clear days.
Free afternoon for shopping and exploring the city. Final dinner in an elegant restaurant.
After breakfast in the hotel, transfer to Milano-Malpensa airport. End of services.
