Asolo: perched village

Asolo: perched village
Located in a panoramic spot between the plain and the Alps, Asolo has rightly been included among the 100 most beautiful villages in Italy, a designation that brings together small towns of great historical interest, often far from the main tourist flows, with the aim of safeguarding and revitalizing them.
Asolo has a very ancient history: first traces of human settlements date back to the prehistoric era! The period of the Serenissima domination was probably the moment of greatest splendor of the town. During this period Venetian families left magnificent villas and residences in town and around its countryside.
Today you can enjoy a wonderful view from the castle walls, or go up to the medieval fortress. The Borgo deserves a visit, and perhaps a taste of the local DOCG wine: Prosecco Montello and Colli Asolani.
